AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) MOTOROLA RAT-PAC COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: The City Council finds and declares that there is a need to purchase two Motorola Rat-Pac communication systems.

 

SECTION 2: Said communication systems may be purchased immediately from Motorola, P.O. Box 1219, Sikeston, Mo. 6381, for the sum of Three Thousand Four Hundred Eighty Dollars And No/100 ( $3,480.00 ) each for a total of Six Thousand Nine Hundred Sixty Dollars and No/100 ( $6,960.00 ). The City Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to purchase said communication systems.

 

SECTION 3: The City Council finds and declares that the immediate purchase of said communication systems is necessary for the health and welfare of the citizens of Jonesboro. Therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and due to said emergency, the Council waives the usual bidding requirements; and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of February, 1988.
