ORDINANCE TO REPEAL ORDINANCE NUMBER 2543, RETURNING TWO-HOUR PARKING TO THE NEWLY ANNEXED CRAIGHEAD COUNTY COURT HOUSE.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: "TWO HOUR PARKING" signs to be placed on both sides of Main Street from Jefferson to Washington; both sides of Washington from Main to Union; both sides of Union from Washington to Jefferson; and both sides of Jefferson from Union to Main.

 

SECTION 2: The drivers of all vehicles shall obey all traffic control signs per instruction on the face thereof.

 

SECTION 3: The Chief of Police or some person designated by him/her is hereby directed to place and locate upon the above street(s) at the proper location, appropriate signs designating traffic control as set out above, and it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to tear down, remove or mutilate said signs.

 

SECTION 4: Every person convicted of a violation of any provision of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than $100.00.

 

SECTION 5: All ordinances and/or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

 

SECTION 6: It is found and declared by the City Council that due to the completion of the newly annexed Craighead County Court House and a need for parking, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
