RESOLUTION SETTING A TAX ON ALL REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY FOR THE POLICEMEN’S PENSION AND RELIEF FUND

WHEREAS, the fully qualified, constituted and acting Board of Trustees of the Policemen’s Pension and Relief Fund of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, have enacted and caused to be certified to the City of Jonesboro City Clerk a resolution finding that the sum of _______ is necessary to discharge the functions of said Board during the year 1976;
WHEREAS, the City Council doth hereby approve said aforementioned resolution and certificate; and
WHEREAS, the City Council doth hereby find that the total assessed valuation of property, both real and personal within the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, is the sum of _______; and
WHEREAS, the City Council doth find in order to raise said sum of ________, it is necessary to levy a tax of _____ mills per dollar assessed valuation and that the amount to be raised by said tax will not fully cover the certified needs of said Board of Trustees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS:
1. That there be and there is hereby levied on all real and personal property within the City of Jonesboro a tax of _____ mills on each dollar of assessed valuation of all real and personal property lying and situated within the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, for the year 1975 to be collected in the year 1976 and that the funds realized there from be devoted to the purpose set out in the Policemen’s Pension and Relief Acts and Ordinances.
2. That the County Clerk of Craighead County, Arkansas, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to extend said tax as herein described upon the tax books and that the same be collected in the same manner as other property taxes are collected.
3. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to spread this resolution upon the minute book of the City and certify a copy of the same to the County Clerk of Craighead County, Arkansas.
