RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO THE WHITE RIVER BASIN COORDINATING COMMITTEE FOR THEIR WORK ON THE WHITE RIVER BASIN

WHEREAS, The White River Basin Coordination Committee has now issued its preliminary report on the White River Basin and
WHEREAS, The City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas, desires to go on record as publicly expressing its appreciation to the White River Basin Coordination Committee for its work,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Jonesboro, on this day meeting does hereby express its appreciation to the White River Basin Coordinating Committee for the careful and detailed work which it has done on the White River Basin.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that it is the consensus of this City Council that conservation of the land and water resources of the White River Basin will contribute as much to the development of our area as any other one thing, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the consensus of this City Council is that the construction of the Wolf Bayou Dam on the White River is the key project to the completion of the entire plans for the Basin and that this City Council desires to endorse the speedy planning, designing and construction thereof, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the White River Basin Coordination Committee and to the United States Senators and Congressman from Arkansas.
