AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 2009 ANNUAL BUDGET AND THE CITY PAY PLAN FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO ADD TWO ADDITIONAL POSITIONS OF CITY ACCOUNTANT AND ASSISTANT CITY ACCOUNTANT TO THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT

Body

WHEREAS, Ordinance number ORD-09:005 adopted the 2009 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro; and

WHEREAS, Resolution number 2004:02 adopted the City Pay Plan; and

WHEREAS, it is recommended by the Finance Committee, to ensure sufficient accounting management in the Finance Department, that the City Accountant and Assistant City Accountant be added to the Finance Department.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

SECTION 1: The 2009 annual budget of the City of Jonesboro is amended to include one City Accountant Grade 22 Step 1 at $49,434 and Assistant City Accountant Grade 18 Step 3 at $38,218.  Appropriations from the General Funds unreserved fund balance will be used to finance this position.

SECTION 2: For the financial and operational continuity of the City of Jonesboro, it is hereby found and declared that an emergency exists and that this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
