AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 2228, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS BY SPECIFICALLY EARTHQUAKE DESIGN LOAD REQUIREMENTS OF THE SOUTHERN BUILDING CODE TO THE CITY’S ADOPTED BUILDING CODE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 2228 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

11.04.04 SAME - AMENDMENTS.

(G) Section 1206, Earthquake Design Loads, is specifically added to the City’s adopted version of the 1988 Southern Building Cope.

 

SECTION 2: If for any reason, any portion of this Ordinance is held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no way affect the remaining portions thereof which are valid, but such valid portions shall remain in full force and effect.

 

SECTION 3: It is found and declared by the City Council that an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety; it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of May, 1990.
