ORDINANCE TO SET THE SALARY OF THE MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That, the salary of the Judge of the Municipal Court of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, is hereby fixed at $3,000.00 per annum payable in monthly (equal) installments.
Section 2: That, all ordinances and laws and parts of ordinances and laws in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: It is found by the City Council that the cost of living has risen since the last time said salary was adjusted an the case load of the dockets has more than doubled since the last adjustment of salary; and that the public interest and welfare requires an increase in said salary immediately; that the efficient administration of justice requires that the Ordinance should be immediately effective; and emergency is therefore found and declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and welfare, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 16th day of January, 1967.
