AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION ONE OF ORDINANCE NO.892, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO.925, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO.941, SAME BEING AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH CERTAIN STANDARD REQUIREMENTS IN REGARD TO THE EMPLOYMENT OF MEMBERS OF THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO

BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro:
 
SECTION 1: That from and after the passage and adoption of this ordinance, Section 1 (a) of Ordinance No.892 as amended by Ordinance No.925, as amended by Ordinance No.941 shall be amended to read as follows:
 
(A)  Any such applicant shall have reached his twenty-second birthday and in the event such applicant does not have at least 5 years practical experience as a peace officer, shall not be over 35 years of age; but in the event such applicant proves at least five years satisfactory practical experience as a peace officer such applicant shall be filed with the chief of the department and by said chief filed with the office of City Clerk and shall remain on file in the office of the City Clerk.
 
SECTION 2: This ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
