RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS GRANTS AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO ACCEPT AND ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, OFFICE OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL SERVICES FOR THE PROJECT SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS GRANT (PSN)

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro applied for the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) - Eastern District Grant from the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, Office of Intergovernmental Services; and,
WHEREAS, The City was awarded $55,553.52 in PSN funding with no local match for the purchase of camera surveillance equipment for the Jonesboro Police Department.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas will accept the Project Safe Neighborhoods grant and enter into an agreement with the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, Office of Intergovernmental Services to purchase police surveillance equipment.
SECTION 2: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this contractual agreement.
SECTION 3: The Grants and Community Development Department is hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to submit all necessary documents for this awarded grant.
