AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF A PS 150B CATERPILLAR PNEUMATIC ROLLER, SERIAL NO. 3XR80

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That the MATA Department (Gravel Roads) needs to purchase the following:
PS 150B CATERPILLAR PNEUMATIC ROLLER, SERIAL NUMBER 3XR80
SECTION 2: That such equipment can be purchased from J.A. RIGGS CO., located in Jonesboro, Arkansas, for the sum of Thirty-six Thousand Dollars ($36,000.00).
SECTION 3: That the City Council, in accord with the terms of A.C.A. 14-58-302(2)(b) hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Officer to purchase the above described for the price set forth in Section 2 above. Said amount shall be paid by money from the MATA Department (Gravel Roads) 07-102-232.
SECTION 4: It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire the above machinery, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect from and after its approval.
