AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 20 ½ -5 AND 21-15 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES:

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

Section 1: That Section 20 ½-5 (A) (2) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro is hereby amended to read as follows:

“Section 20 ½ - 5 (A) (2) Pipe: Pipe used in the construction of culverts and storm sewers, shall be reinforced concrete or bituminous coated corrugated metal pipe or pipe arch with paved invert. Minimum size pipe used shall not be less than eighteen (18) inches inside diameter.”

Section 2: That Section 20 ½ - 5 (A) (5) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro is hereby amended to read as follows:

“Section 20 ½ - 5 (A) (5) SUBDRAIN TILE: Sub-drain tile shall conform to current A.S.T.M. specifications, shall not be less than eighteen (18) inches inside diameter and shall pass standard methods of testing A.A.S.H.D.”

Section 3: That Section 21-15 (e) (11) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro is hereby amended to read as follows:

“Section 21-15 (e) (11) Adequate provision for drainage of surface water shall be made by the sub-divider and shown on the plan and he shall file with the planning commission a description specifications and drawings prepared by a registered civil engineer, which shall be adequate to provide drainage for the area sub-divided and for adjacent areas affected by drainage across or for such tact. The minimum side pipe used in the subdivision shall not be less than eighteen (18) inches inside diameter.”

Section 4: All ordinances and/or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

Section 5: It is found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that an emergency exists and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage ...
