CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - March 4, 2002

The Jonesboro City Council met Monday, March 4 2002, at 6:30 p.m. A full quorum was in attendance. Present were: City Clerk, Donna K. Jackson, and twelve council members. Those members were: Kelton, Tate, Rorex, Crockett, McCall, Rega, Province, Moore, Young, Perrin, Copeland, and Roddy. Vice Mayor Young presided over the meeting in the absence of Mayor Brodell. City Attorney, Phillip Crego was unable to attend.

Councilman Roddy moved, seconded by Councilman Tate to approve the minutes of February 18, 2002, as previously delivered. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members were: Kelton, Tate, Rorex, Crockett, McCall, Rega, Province, Moore, Young, Perrin Copeland and Roddy.

Councilman Rorex offered the following ordinance for first reading:

ORDINANCE VACATING AND CLOSING LUTTERLOH STREET A PORTION OF HOPE AVENUE AND AN ALLEY LOCATED IN ELDER’S ADDITION. (JONESBORO REAL ESTATE HOLDINGS)

Councilman Tate moved, seconded by Councilman Perrin to suspend the rules and place on second reading. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye with the exception of Councilman Rega who recused himself from voting on agenda items 4-A and 4-B due to a conflict of interest. Those members voting aye were: Kelton, Tate, Rorex, Crockett, McCall, Province, Moore, Young, Perrin, Copeland and Roddy. Councilman Tate moved, seconded by Councilman Kelton to further suspend the rules and place on third and final reading. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye with the exception of Councilman Rega who recused himself. Those members voting aye were: Kelton, Tate, Rorex, Crockett, McCall, Province, Moore, Young, Perrin, Copeland and Roddy. Councilman Perrin moved, seconded by Councilman Moore for the adoption of the ordinance. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye with the exception of Councilman Reg...
