AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ARTICLE 2 OF SECTION 8: THE SAME BEING LICENSING OF ELECTRICIANS, CONTRACTORS, ETC.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

Section 1: Section 8-16 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is hereby amended to read as follows: All licensed Electrical Contractors shall report to the City Electrical Inspector the name, address and phone number of all licensed electricians and registered apprentices employed by them. Any licensed Electrical Contractors, failing to comply with this provision may be suspended. The reporting of the above information is to be done before January 31st of each year and within thirty (30) days of the employment of any new electrician or apprentice.

Section 2: Section 8-17 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is hereby amended to read as follows Only Master electrician licensed by the City of Jonesboro or holding a current State of Arkansas Master electrician license will be permitted to obtain a privilege license and /or permitted to do electric work in the jurisdiction of the City of Jonesboro. No Master electrician or electrical contractor shall permit any person other than his employees to work under his license and/or permits.

Section 3: Section 8-19 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is hereby amended to read as follows: The Board may revoke or cancel any certificate of competency issued by the Board for any violation or non-compliance with any other Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas or the rules and regulations of the Board or on account of incompetence of the person holding the certificate. A Certificate of Competency may be revoked if the person does not pay his license fee during the current calendar year of his privilege license for the current calendar year.
