RESOLUTION TO OPEN A VISA CARD ACCOUNT TO BE USED FOR MUNICIPAL BUSINESS

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, THAT THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT IS DULY AUTHORIZED TO:
Apply to issuer to obtain financial accommodations through a visa card account to be used for and in connection with municipal business, specifically out of City Employee Travel Expenses, and for the issuance of sufficient number of visa cards, as in the judgment of the officers hereinafter authorized, the City may require;
WHEREAS, issuer will not extend such accommodations unless the City agrees to assume sole responsibility for the use of such account or visa card complying with all the provisions herein; and to pay issuer for all indebtedness incurred by the use of such account, whether or not such indebtedness was authorized. It is agreed that this account will not be used until a copy of the cardholder agreement governing its use has been received and the terms accepted.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Finance Director and Purchasing Agent of the City of Jonesboro are hereby authorized, directed and empowered in the name of the city to apply to issuer to open such account and execute such agreements to pay all indebtedness incurred, and
RESOLVED FURTHER, that issuer is authorized to act upon this resolution until written notice of its revocation is delivered to issuer, and that the authority hereby granted shall apply with equal force and effect to the successors in office of the officers herein named.
