AN ORDINANCE TO TRANSFER FUNDS FROM PARKS DEVELOPMENT TO THE ARKANSAS FORESTRY COMMISSION GRANT

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro Parks and Recreation Department has written and received funding for an Urban Forestry Grant from the Arkansas Forestry Commission, and

WHEREAS, $20,000 was budgeted in 2004 for the Grant in the Capital Improvement Fund, line item 07-100-154, and

WHEREAS, $40,000 was requested and approved by the State; therefore an additional $20,000 is needed to meet the City’s 50/50 percent matching requirements.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

SECTION 1: That the sum of $20,000 be transferred from the 2004 budget appropriation for Park Development, line item number 07-100-173 in the Capital Improvement Fund, to line item 07-100-154.

SECTION 2: The Mayor, Hubert Brodell and City Clerk, Donna Jackson are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate the improvements to Craighead Forest Park.

SECTION 3: This ordinance being necessary for the financial continuity of the City of Jonesboro, there is hereby declared to be an emergency and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
