A RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE CITY OF JONESBORO PAY PLAN

WHEREAS, Resolution Number 2004:02 adopted the City Pay Plan; and

WHEREAS, it is recommended by the Public Works Committee to ensure sufficient staffing in the Street Department; and

WHEREAS, it has been determined that the base pay for the Street Superintendent is insufficient for the qualifications and experience required to fill the position.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, THAT:

SECTION ONE:  The position of Street Superintendent is moved from Grade 22 Step 1 $48,943.23 to Grade 22 Step 4 $52,706.49.

SECTION TWO:  The salary increase shall come from the “Salaries” line item (02-100-0201-00) in the 2008 budget.

SECTION THREE:  The 2008 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro will not be affected by the change in pay.

SECTION FOUR:  There are sufficient funds in the budget and no additional money will need to be appropriated.
