RESOLUTION TO PROCEED WITH THE US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE SECURE OUR SCHOOLS GRANT IN COOPERATION WITH THE JONESBORO, NETTLETON, VALLEY VIEW AND WESTSIDE PUBLIC SCHOOLS

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to proceed with the United States Department of Justice “Secure Our Schools” (S.O.S) grant in cooperation with the Jonesboro, Nettleton, Valley View, and Westside Public School Systems. The grant requires a 50% cash match for the purchase of security equipment, training, assessments, and coordination with local law enforcement which will be totally funded by the respective school districts as follows:
• Jonesboro Public Schools: 50% of $195,466.60
• Nettleton Public Schools: 50% of up to $50,000.00
• Valley View Public Schools: 50% of $143,000.00
• Westside Public Schools: 50% of $118,545.00
