AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended by recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning by the change in zoning classifications as follows: From Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-3) of the following described property lying in Craighead County, Arkansas, to-wit:
The North Half of the South Half of Lot 9, and the East 140 feet of the South Half of the North Half of Lot 9,Thorn’s Addition to the City of Jonesboro, formerly Town of Nettleton, Arkansas.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the proper use of the tract of land described above is delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
