RESOLUTION TO INCORPORATE LAND INTO THE JONESBORO MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AND TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS WITH THE F.A.A.

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas had on November 15, 1963 received a release letter from the Federal Aviation Agency, Airports Division, releasing approximately 218.813 acres located at the Jonesboro Municipal Airport, Craighead County, Arkansas and described as follows:
Begin at the Southeast Corner of the Southwest Quarter, Section 22, Township 14 North, Range 4 East and measure East along said section line 1, 160 feet; thence North 33 degrees 8’ East, 1,080 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence continue North 33 degrees 8’ East, parallel and adjacent to the westerly right-of-way of the Missouri Pacific Railroad, a distance of 8,940 feet; thence North 56 degrees 52’ West for a distance of 610 feet; thence South 33 degrees 8’ West for a distance of 1,880 feet; thence North 56 degrees 52’ West for a distance of 580 feet; thence South 33 degrees 8’ West a distance of 2,425 feet; thence North 56 degrees 52’ West a distance of 200 feet; thence South 44 degrees 30’ West a distance of 2,000 feet; then in a southerly direction for 3,240 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning, containing 218.813 acres, more or less.
AND WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has never developed this land for industrial purposes;
AND WHEREAS, this land has been used for airport purposes and is to be used in the future for airport purposes, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas wishes to include this land into the airport map and to advise the Federal Aviation Administration that this land will be used for airport purposes;
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the above described land be incorporated into the Jonesboro Municipal Airport and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute any documents needed by the Federal Aviation Admi...
