AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

 

Begin at the center Section 29, Township 14 North - Range 4 East; thence North 89°02'00" East - 50.00' to the East Right Of Way Line of Browns Lane; thence South 00°13'40" West along said Right Of Way - 45.00' to the point of beginning proper; thence North 89°02'00" East along South Right Of Way of Race Street - 233.15'; thence with the meanderings of the West Right Of Way of McClellan Drive, South 00°13'40" West - 64.21' to the East Right Of Way Line of Browns Lane; thence North 00°13'40' East along said Right Of Way - 2005.73 to the point of beginning proper containing 10.97 acres more or less and subject to all Rights Of Way and easements of record.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
