RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH HARRY HARDWICK FOR SERVICES TO ACQUIRE PROPERTY RIGHTS AND RIGHT OF WAYS

WHEREAS, The City of Jonesboro desires to obtain personal services for the acquisition of property rights and right of ways for street improvements and construction, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Harry Hardwick possesses the ability to provide such services and is in the business of providing such services, and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro is desirous of obtaining such services from an independent contractor, and
WHEREAS, funding for the contract is provided in the 2004 Budget, Engineering Department professional services line item.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
1. The Mayor of the City of Jonesboro is authorized to execute a contract with Mr. Harry Hardwick as an independent contractor for services for the acquisition of property rights and right of ways for street improvements and construction
2. The term of the contract shall be for a period up to twelve months, as services may be required, commencing on January 1, 2004, with payment to be made to Mr. Hardwick in the amount of $1,000 twice monthly, with an additional monthly payment of $350 for the use of a personal vehicle and telephone.
3. Either party may withdraw from the contract at any time, for any reason.
4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
