body
The City Planning Commission of Jonesboro, Arkansas, met in regular adjourned session (there being no quorum on August 9th) on August 16, 1956, at 7:30 p.m. in the Engineering Office of City Water and Light Plant.

Present: Planning Commissioners Jesse Banks, Charles Frierson, Al Hendrix, Mrs. Clifford Hill, Lloyd Rebsamen and Neal Thayer. Also present was Mr. O.D. Wood.

Absent: Dean Ellis, Minor Markle and Elmer Stuck.

After discussion, moved by Charles Frierson, seconded by Al Hendrix, and carried, that the Planning Commission waive the requirements of filing five (5) prints of a subdivision plan submitted by Mr. O.D. Wood for preliminary consideration and give final approval to a plat and street layout titled “F.M. Wood Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas, with Subdivision of Lot 8 of Same,” “Ollie D. Wood Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas,” and “Ollie D. After discussion, moved by Jesse Banks, seconded by Al Hendrix, and carried, that a plat of Blocks “D” and “E” of Frierson Addition to the City of Jonesboro be given final approval, preliminary approval having been given on July 13, 1956.

Chairman Rebsamen made a report to the Commission of a joint Chamber of Commerce Highway Committee-City Planning Commission Meeting with H.E. Eldridge, Director of the Arkansas State Highway Department. The chairman pointed out the excellent cooperation Jonesboro has received...
