RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO ABANDON A PORTION OF SECOND STREET AS REQUESTED BY MATTHEWS, INC.

WHEREAS, Matthews, Inc., by and through its President and Secretary, has filed a Petition with the City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, requesting that a portion of Second Street be vacated and abandoned; and

WHEREAS, the Petition has been presented to the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and

WHEREAS, Arkansas Stat. Ann. § 19-3814 requires two (2) weeks public notice before the above street cab be vacated and abandoned.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the City Clerk is directed to publish a notice once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks advising the public that Matthews, Inc., desires to vacate and abandon that portion of Second Street lying west of Lots 53, 54 and 55 of the Northwestern Addition to the City of Jonesboro and located in Barrett's Addition to the City of Jonesboro and that this matter will be heard before the City Council on April 6, 1987, at 7 p.m. at City Hall, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
