AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 13-10 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, INCREASING THE ANNUAL OCCUPATION TAX TEN PERCENT (10%) AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Section 13-10 is hereby amended by increasing the now existing annual rate to be paid in order to obtain the license to carry on or engage in the businesses, occupations, vocations, professions or callings. Each established rate is hereby increased by 10%.

 

Section 2: The City Collector shall add 10% to each classification covered by Section 13-10 of the Code of Ordinances.

 

Section 3: This Ordinance is effective beginning the tax year, 1974.

 

Section 4: It is formed and declared by the City Council that the City of Jonesboro is in need of additional revenues and an increase in the rate is necessary and an emergency is declared to exist and it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
