AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS FOR PURCHASE OF D-5 CATERPILLER DOZER- SERIAL NO. 96JO3376

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

Section 1: The City Council finds and declares that there is a need to purchase a 1973 D-5 Caterpillar Dozer, immediately.

Section 2: Said Dozer may be purchased immediately from J.A. Riggs Tractor Company of Little Rock, Arkansas for the sum of Thirty-seven thousand Dollars ($37.000). The City Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to purchase said Dozer.

Section 3: The City Council finds and declares that the immediate purchase of said Dozer is necessary for the health and welfare of the Citizens of Jonesboro. Therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and due to said emergency, the Council waves the usual bidding requirements and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
