AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH FIRE LANES AT INDIAN MALL SHOPPING CENTER; TO PLAN AND RECORD SAME WITH CITY CLERK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: Fire lanes shall be established at Indian Mall Shopping Center as shown on a plat attached hereto and made a part hereof. The plat shall be filed for record by the City Clerk.
Section 2: After the passing of this ordinance the owner or lessee of the area to be controlled shall at their own expense, post signs, paint lines, arrow the curbing in the required colors to apprise the public of this ordinance.
Section 3: Any person or persons found parked in an area designated as a fire zone or any vehicle found unoccupied in an area designated as a fire zone shall be in violation of the ordinance and shall be punished by a fine of not less than five dollars (5.00), nor more than fifty dollars (50.00).
Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby specifically repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5: Is found and declared by the City Council that there is a desperate need that fire zones be established at the many shopping centers located within the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that these fire lanes are needed to insure proper fire protection and to permit fire vehicles to approach the buildings in a manner which would allow them to be able to extinguish a fire in the respective buildings, and that therefore, this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effects from and after its passage and approval.
