A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE LEASE NO. DTFASW-09-L-00001 WITH THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA)

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro owns the building that has housed the FAA Automated Flight Service Station (AFSS)  located at the Jonesboro Municipal Airport; and

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro entered into Lease No. DTFA07-84-L-01034 providing 10,000 net useable square feet for the operation of the AFSS; and

WHEREAS, the current lease has an expiration date of September 30, 2008 and the function of the AFSS will be entirely phased out at this location; and

WHEREAS, the FAA’s System Support Center personnel has a continued need for 2,500 square feet of the facility; and

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro desires to enter into Succeeding Lease No. DTFASW-09-L-00001 with the FAA.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:

1.                     The City Council agrees to the terms and conditions of the agreement as outlined in the attached lease.

2.                     The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute such documents as are necessary to effectuate this agreement.
