RESOLUTION TO NOTIFY ST. LOUIS-SAN FRANCISCO RAILROAD COMPANY OF AN INADEQUATELY MARKED CROSSING ON AIRPORT ROAD

WHEREAS, St. Louis - San Francisco Railroad Company has caused its tracks to intersect with Airport Road, and
WHEREAS, said intersection and crossing is located within the City Limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and
WHEREAS, for the past several years on several occasions there have occurred collisions by the railroad trains and motor vehicles traveling on said Airport Road, and
WHEREAS, said collisions have resulted in the loss of property and life, and
WHEREAS, said crossing has been determined by the city council to be inadequately marked with safety and warning devices so as to be considered an ultra-hazardous crossing,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that a copy of this resolution shall be placed in the official minutes and a copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to the St. Louis - San Francisco Railroad Company and said resolution shall be notice to the railroad of the hazards existing and created by said railroad because of the safety and warning devices now existing at said crossing.
