Minutes for the City Council meeting on January 3, 1955

The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, met in regular session on the above named date in the City Hall at 7:30 p.m. There were present: Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney and the following Councilmen: Powell, Hamilton, Stricklin, Hall, Snow, Copeland, Hendrix, Kaffka, Johnson and Taylor.
Mr. Taylor offered the following resolution:
RESOLUTION THE ARKANSAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE IS PROPOSING LEGISLATION WHICH WILL GIVE RELIEF TO THE STREET FUNDS OF THE CITIES AND TOWNS OF THE STATE
Mr. Stricklin made the motion, seconded by Mr. Copeland, that the resolution be adopted as read. Roll was called. All members voting aye. The resolution was given the number 1955:01.
Mr. Johnson offered the following Resolution:
RESOLUTION NAMING MERCANTILE BANK OF JONESBORO AS THE DEPOSITORY FOR FUNDS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS UNTIL JANUARY 1, 1956
Mr. Copeland made the motion, seconded by Mr. Hamilton, that the resolution be adopted as read. Roll was called. All members voting aye. Motion carried. The resolution was given the number 1955:02.
Mr. Stricklin made the motion, seconded by Mr. Hall, that the bills as okayed by the Finance Committee be paid. Roll was called. All members voting aye. Motion carried.
Mr. Powell made the motion, there being no further business that Council adjourn. Mr. Hamilton seconded the motion. All aye. Council adjourned.
