A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO AMEND THE SALARY AND ADMINISTRATION PLAN BY INCLUDING REVISED PAY GRADES AND SALARY RANGES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND AMEND THE 2023 BUDGET

WHEREAS, RES-22:254 amended the City Salary and Administration Plan; and,
WHEREAS, RES-23:041 amended the 2023 Budget; and,
WHEREAS, a need has been identified to amend the City of Jonesboro's current Salary Administration Plan to include revised pay grades & salary ranges for JPD; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor is provided with the authority to develop a suitable incentive program for JPD certified personnel with an annual incentive opportunity not to exceed $3,000 to be effective 2024; and,
WHEREAS, salary revisions are typically considered during the budget process, these salary revisions will be effective in this current year and will remain effective through year end 2024; and,
WHEREAS, the 2023 budget for JPD will need to be amended $770,000 for salaries, plus benefits to support the increases effective September 2023.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The attached listing of JPD Revised Pay Grades & Salaries of the Salary & Administration Plan is hereby adopted.
SECTION 2: The Mayor is provided the authority to develop a suitable incentive program for JPD certified personnel with an annual incentive opportunity not to exceed $3,000 to be effective 2024.
