A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION UNDER THE TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNITY AND SYSTEM PRESERVATION PILOT PROGRAM FOR CARAWAY ROAD GRADE SEPARATION PROJECT ASSISTANCE

WHEREAS, a need has long existed for planning and implementation of a rail/highway grade separation on Caraway Road; and
WHEREAS, a coalition of entities, led by Arkansas State University, has been formed to advance the proposed project; and
WHEREAS, the University has coordinated the preparation of an application for the City to file for certain project assistance which may be available through the Transportation and Community and System Pilot Program (TCSP), administered by the Federal Highway Administration; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City to participate and support in all respects efforts to help this much needed project become reality.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS:
That the Mayor be, and is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City of Jonesboro, to execute and file a Transportation and Community and System Preservation Pilot Program application with the Federal Highway Administration.
