AN ORDINANCE WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF AVL UNITS FOR JETS.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:

SECTION ONE: That the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas needs to purchase AVL equipment for the Transit Department to be used by City vehicles.

SECTION TWO:  That said equipment may be purchased from Relativity, Inc., an only source, located in Jonesboro, AR for the sum of $3230.00, plus applicable sales tax and shipping, for two transit buses to be paid from the Fixed Asset Fund, Transit line item.  This is the same contract pricing that police and fire have contracted, plus work station viewing licensure. 

SECTION THREE:  That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. § 14-58-302 hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Agent to purchase the above described for the price set forth in Section Two above.
