AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 1015 PROVIDING FOR PARKING METER ZONES AND TIME LIMITS THEREOF

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

Section 1: That part of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1015 dealing with Zone No. 2 and Time Limit is hereby amended to read as follows:

ZONE NO. 2 AND TIME LIMIT: Parking or standing a vehicle in a designated space in Parking Meter Zone No. 2 shall be lawful for one hour upon deposit of one nickel, or two hours upon deposit of two nickels or one dime, with two hours limit:

Section 2: Subsection (i) of that part of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1015 under the heading “Zone No. 2 and Time Limit” is hereby amended to read as follows:

(i) The North and South sides of Washington Avenue from Madison Avenue to South Church Street; except the first three meters of the South Side of Washington Avenue immediately West from the intersection of Union Street (beside the First National Bank Building) which shall provide lawful parking for twelve minutes upon a deposit of one cent coin, with twelve minutes, limit; and the first two meters on the North side of Washington Avenue immediately East of Main Street (beside the McAdams Trust Building) which shall provide lawful parking for twelve minutes upon deposit of a one cent coin, twelve minute limit; and except the first meter on the North side of Washington Avenue immediately West of Main Street (in front of Citizens Bank Building) which shall provide lawful parking for twelve minutes upon a deposit of a one cent coin, twelve minute limit.

Section 3: All other portions of said Ordinances No. 1015 as amended shall continue in full force and effect except as specifically amended above.

Section 4: It is found and determined by the City Council that it is now possible to establish additional parking spaces on Washington Avenue in the downtown area and the lack of sufficient downtown parking areas being of major concern to the city, and this ordinanc...
