The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Ark., met in regular session at City Hall, Monday night, April 2, 1962, at 7:30 p.m. There were present: Mayor, City Attorney, City Clerk and the following named Councilmen: Sammons, Brewer, Smith, Brickell, Stallings, Snow, Kelly, Cook, Ledbetter, Copeland and Perry. Absent: Wilson.

Mr. Smith offered the following ordinance and placed it on the first reading:

AN ORDINANCE VACATING THAT PORTION OF JUDY STREET ABUTTED BY LOTS 8, 9, 10, 11 AND 12 IN BLOCK 1 AND LOTS 4, 5, 6, 7 AND 8 IN BLOCK 2 OF MANGRUM’S SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF JONESBORO

Mr. Brewer made the motion seconded by Mr. Sammons that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be placed on the second reading. Roll was called. All voted aye and the motion carried. Mr. Brickell moved with Mr. Sammons seconding the motion that the ordinance be placed on the third and final reading. Roll was called. All aye. Motion carried. Mr. Smith then moved with Mr. Ledbetter seconding the motion that the ordinance be adopted. On the roll call, all voted aye and the mayor declared the ordinance adopted. The ordinance was given the number 1050.

Mr. Smith offered the ordinance and placed it on the first reading:

A BILL FOR AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CLOSING AND THE SALE OF THE WEST TWENTY FEET OF JUDY STREET ADJACENT TO LOTS 13, 14 AND 15 IN BLOCK 1 OF MANGRUM’S SUBDIVISION OF BLOCK 4 OF SENTER AND COMPANY’S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO

Mr. Snow made the motion seconded by Mr. Brewer that the rule be suspended and the ordinance be placed on the second reading. Roll was called. All voted aye. Motion carried. Mr. Perry moved with Mr. Sammons seconding the motion that the rule be further suspended and the ordinance be placed on the third and final reading. On calling the roll, all voted aye and the motion carried. Mr. Smith then moved with Mr. Brewer seconding the motion for adoption of the ordinance. Roll ...
