AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 24-4 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, PROVIDING FOR ZONING OF ANNEXED AREAS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to-wit:
That Section 24-4 Section 2 and Section 3 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 1: The aforementioned request shall be in writing and states factual reasons why the request in zoning classification is desired; said request shall be accomplished by 10 copies of the proposed plat of the territory seeking to be annexed along with a file copy of the petition for annexation and all documents shall be presented to the City Inspectors office, no later than 4:00 PM on the first Thursday of each month.
Section 2: The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission shall make a study of the request and shall vote whether or not to approve, disapprove, table for further study, or approve with stipulations. A request shall be approved if a majority of the appointed members vote in favor of the request in Zoning Classifications.
Section 3: All Ordinances and/or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4: This Ordinance being necessary for the preservation for the public peace, health, safety and welfare, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
