AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:   

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classification as follows:

 

From R-1 to C-3 the following described property:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

           

A part of the Southeast Quarter of Section 32, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas to wit:  From the Northeast corner of said Southeast Quarter run North 86°47'03" East a distance of 3.08 feet to a point on the centerline of Caraway Road; then run South 00°51'58" West along said centerline a distance of 659.40 feet; then run North 89°53'56" West a distance of 30.01 feet to the West right-of-way line of Caraway Road and the point of beginning; then run South 01°43'07" West along said West right-of-way line a distance of 656.25 feet to a point; then leaving said West right-of-way line run North 89°55'25" West a distance of 1313.22 feet to a point; then run North 01°23'03" East a distance of 656.72 feet to a point; then run South 89°53'56" East a distance of 1317.04 feet to a point, said point being the point of beginning, containing 19.81 acres.

             

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
