AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classification as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) To Commercial (C-3) to the following described property.

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

 

Part of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 4, Township 13 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas being more particularly described as follows:

 

Begin at the Northwest Corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 4, Township 13 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas; thence North 89º58'25" East along the North Line of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 4, aforesaid, 240.00 feet; thence South 0º15'25" West 60.50 feet to the South Right-Of-Way Line of Colony Drive, the point of beginning proper; thence continue South 0º15'25" West 247.86 feet; thence North 80º41'46" West 186.36 feet to the East Right-Of-Way Line of Stadium Boulevard; thence North 0º14'06" West along said East Right-Of-Way Line 217.93 feet to the South Right-Of-Way Line of Colony Drive; thence South 89º56'12" East along said South Right-Of-Way Line 185.91 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 0.99 acres.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract of land described above in the Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
