AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 PROVIDING FOR CHANGE IN ZONING DISTRICT BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended as recommended by the City Planning Commission by the change of Zoning District Boundaries as follows:
(1) To change the zoning from Residential (R-1) to Industrial (I-1) of part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 26, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, more particularly described as follows: Begin at intersection of North right-of-way line of the St. Louis San Francisco Railroad and the West line of Section 26 aforesaid; thence North along the West line of Section 26 and the East line of Section 27 aforesaid to the South line of Sarah Avenue; thence East along the South line of Sarah Avenue to the East line of Earl Kiech Fourth Addition; thence North along the East line of Earl Kiech Fourth Addition to the South line of Janice Avenue; thence East along the South line of Janice Avenue 13 feet to the East line of an alley; thence North along the East line of said alley to the Southwest corner of Veon C. Kiech Addition; thence East along the South line of Veon C. Kiech Addition to the East line of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 26 aforesaid; thence south along the East line of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 26 aforesaid to the North right-of-way line of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railroad; thence West along the North right-of-way line of said railroad to the point of beginning, containing 27.5 acres, more or less.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it sha...
