RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO VACATE AND ABANDON AN ALLEY LOCATED IN BLOCK E OF THE GREGG’S SUBDIVISION OF THE LANE’S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

WHEREAS, a petition has been duly filed by Francis Ward, et al, being the property owners of lots 1 through 28 inclusive of Block E of Gregg’s sub-division of Lane’s addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, praying that the alley herein below described by abandoned and vacated as follows:

 

An alley being 20 feet wide by 350 feet long running East and West through Block E of Gregg’s sub-division of Lane’s addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, said alley being bounded on the North by lots 1 through 14 inclusive, and on the South by lots 15 through 28 inclusive of said Block E.

 

NOW, THREEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that the City Clerk of said City give notice by publication once a week for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in Craighead County, Arkansas advising the public and property owners affected that on the 20th day of May, 1957, the City Council will hear the petition and determine whether such alley shall be abandoned and vacated, and whether all abutting property owners and other interested persons have consented to such abandonment.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of May, 1957.
