RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO REPEAL RESOLUTION 14:122 WHICH ESTABLISHED A SUDDENLINK COMPLAINT COMMITTEE

WHEREAS:  on August 5, 2014, the City Council for the City of Jonesboro approved Resolution 14:122 establishing a Complaint Committee to consider complaints pertaining to Cebridge Acquisitions, Co., LLC (Suddenlink) as stated in their franchise agreement with the City of Jonesboro; and

WHEREAS:  in March of 2015, Suddenlink received approval from the Arkansas Secretary of State for a state-based franchise agreement; and

WHEREAS:  the State Franchise Agreement supersedes the local franchise agreement and does not provide authority for a local committee to handle customer service complaints regarding the cable television operator; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, that Resolution 14:122 is hereby repealed and the Complaint Committee established by the City of Jonesboro to consider complaints pertaining to Suddenlink services is hereby disbanded.
