CITY COUNCIL MINUTES FEBRUARY 5, 1979

The Jonesboro City Council met in regular session, Monday February 5, 1978, at 7:30 p.m. Present: All aldermen, Mayor, City Attorney and City Clerk.

The minutes of January 15, 1979, were approved as mailed on motion by Mr. Sanderson, seconded by Mr. Park and all council voting aye.

Carolyn Shepard, representing Progressive Black Women’s Association, addressed council concerning use of Patrick Street Community Center. Mayor suggested to Ms. Shepard that she meet with Parks and Recreation Commission at their next scheduled meeting and discuss the grievances with them.

Mr. Sanderson moved that the bids be referred to the Parks and Recreation Committee for recommendations, seconded by Mr. Hannah. All voted aye.

The following bids were opened for radio equipment for activating warning system:

D & D Fire/Safety Products $5,777.39

After the one bid was opened, Mr. Hannah moved all bids be rejected, and the City re-advertise the bids on both high and low band frequency....
