RESOLUTION SETTING A HEARING CONCERNING VACATING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY BETWEEN HAVEN STREET AND SMITH STREET TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
WHEREAS, a Petition has been filed by James S. Patrick and all other owners of the real property abutting a certain alley between the South Half and the North Half of Sharp’s Subdivision of Lot 15, Knight’s First Addition to the City of Jonesboro, praying that said alley be closed and abandoned as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 1 of Sharp’s Subdivision of the North Half of Lot 15, Knight’s First Addition to the City of Jonesboro, thence South to the Northeast corner of Lot 1, Sharp’s Subdivision of the North Half of Lot 15, Knight’s First Addition, thence West to the Northwest corner of Lot 5, Sharp’s Subdivision of the South Half of Lot 15 of Knight’s First Addition, thence North to the Southwest corner of Lot 6, Sharp’s Subdivision of the North Half of Lot 15 of Knight’s First Addition, thence East to the point of beginning, being a strip of land ten feet North and South, and 300 feet East and West lying between Haven and Smith Streets, in the City of Jonesboro.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Clerk for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas give notice by publication once a week for two weeks in some newspaper published in Craighead County, advising the property owners affected that on the 17th day of August, 1959, the Council will hear the said petition and determine whether such property shall be abandoned as an alley and whether all abutting property owners and other persons directly interested have consented to such abandonment.
