BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the city of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION ONE: Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Agricultural-1 To Commercial-3 the following described property:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION

 

A part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 25, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas and being more particularly described as follows:  Commencing at the Northwest corner of said Section 25; thence East 2007.7 feet; thence South 0°27' East 29.0 feet to 2007.7 feet to the South right of way line of State Highway #18, the point of beginning proper; thence continue South 0°27' East 237.0 feet; thence South 89°20' East 344.0 feet; thence North 0°27' West 237.0 feet to said right of way line;  thence North 89°20' West 344.0 feet along said right of way line to the point of beginning proper, containing 1.87 acres more or less and being subject to all public and private roads and easements.

 

SECTION TWO: It is found and declared by the city council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
