RESOLUTION TO DETAIL WHAT THE ANNEXATION COMMITTEE WILL REVIEW AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS ON

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has created an Annexation Committee for the purpose of developing and recommending standards for annexation for enactment by the Jonesboro City Council; and
WHEREAS, the development and implementation of an effective body of plans and procedures for future annexations is essential to the effective and carefully ordered future growth and development of the City of Jonesboro; and
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the Annexation Committee shall review and make recommendations as regards to the following:
(1) Minimum standards for annexations prior to submission to the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission and City Council, including right-0f-way and minimum street standards;
(2)The relationship and possible impact on zoning classifications of the placement of: (a) Water lines, (b) Fire hydrants, (c) Utility easements, (d) Streets and (e) Other public improvements.
(3)Review of ordinances that are related to annexation;
(4) The development of a set of prerequisites or guidance for the submission of annexation proposals to M.A.P.C. and City Council;
(5) Recommendation for methods of funding of administrative operations related to annexation procedures, printing/publication, and other costs;
(6) Other items for consideration as the Annexation Committee may deem beneficial to the development of effective annexation plans and procedures for the City of Jonesboro.
