AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE 14 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE ON ZONING BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Title 14 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) of property described as follows:  Part of the East Half of the Northeast Quarter of Section 16, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, being more particularly described as follows:  Begin at the Northeast Corner of the East Half of the Northeast Quarter of Section 16, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas; thence South 0º43’00” West along the East line of said Section 16,  698.26 feet to the Northeasterly right of way line as follows:  North 57º30’46” West 127.30 feet; North 57º14’47” West 295.24 feet; North 60º46’02” West 403.00 feet; North 55º27’29” West 448.71 feet to the North line of the East Half of the Northeast Quarter of Section 16 aforesaid; thence North 89º00’16” East along said North line 1085.86 feet to the point of beginning, less and except right of way for Highway No. 63, containing 6.42 acres, more or less.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in the Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, and emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of February, 2005.
