A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 519 WEST WASHINGTON

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro owns the facility located at 515 W. Washington, commonly referred to as the "City Hall"; and
 
WHEREAS, this structure is no longer functionally adequate due to the growth of the population and an increase of services provided by the City of Jonesboro; and
 
WHEREAS, the professional office property and parking, located at 519 W. Washington, adjacent to City Hall is currently available for lease by owner; and
 
WHEREAS, the Department of Community and Economic Development, has taken on additional duties and responsibilities, which include the addition of personnel and divisions; and
 
WHEREAS, the Department of Community and Economic Development, through the Community Development Block Grant and Metropolitan Planning Organization UPWP, has within its scope of budgetary discretion, the necessary appropriations to cover such lease provisions;
 
Now therefore be it resolved by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
 
1. The City Council agrees to the terms and conditions of lease attached as exhibit "A".
 
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute such documents as are necessary to effectuate this agreement.
