AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No. 954, known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended as unanimously recommended by the City Planning Commission by the change in zoning boundaries as follows:
From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) of:
The West 300.0 ft of the SE ¼ SE ¼ Section 20, Township 14 North, Range 4 East.
From Residential (R-1) to Residential (R-3) of:
Part of the NE ¼ SW ¼ of Section 29, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, being more particularly described as follows: Begin at the center of Section 29, Township 14 North, Range 4 East; thence S O° 12’ W on the ¼ Sec. Line 827.2’; thence N 89° 48’ W 420’; thence S O° 12’ W 350’; thence S 89° 48’ E 420’ to the West right-of-way line of Browns Lane; thence N O° 12’ E along said right-of-way 350’ to the point of beginning proper, containing 3.375 acres.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tracts of land described in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
