RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE WIDENING OF CHURCH STREET IN FRONT OF THE PRESENT POST OFFICE BUILDING

WHEREAS, the traffic congestion on downtown church Street is due primarily to the narrowness of such street, and

WHEREAS, the sidewalk in front of the present post office building on the East side of Church Street is of sufficient width to permit part of it being removed in order that Church Street may be widened at that point.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to widen that portion of Church Street in front of the present post office building by taking a portion of the sidewalk approximately four feet in width and extending the length of the post office frontage and to secure such permits or grants from the post office department as may be necessary to permit this work to be completed.
