AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.  954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE  PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER  PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance Number 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of  the City of Jonesboro,  Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows: From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3)   The following described property. DESCRIPTION:

 

A part of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 4, township 13 North, range 4 East, Craighead County Arkansas, being more particularly described as follows: Begin at the North 1/4 corner of Section 4, Township 13 North, range 4 East: thence S89º 32' 30"E 65.8' to the east right-of- way line of Arkansas Highway #1 (Stadium Blvd.); thence S00º 44' W along said east right-of- way line 1280.25' to the point of beginning proper;   thence S89º 54'E 1235.85' to the west right- of-way line of Union Pacific Railroad; thence S12º49'W along said west right-of-way line 183.5' thence N 89º54' W -1197.45'  to the  East right of Arkansas Highway #1 (Stadium Blvd.); thence N00º 44' E along said east right-of-way line 179.0' to the point of beginning proper, containing 5.00 acres, more or less, subject to all rights-of-way and easements of record.

 

SECTION 2:   It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of   land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
