RESOLUTION TO HONOR ELIZABETH MALONE FOR HER DEDICATION IN BUILDING LIBRARY SERVICE IN THE CITY OF JONESBORO

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS
That in recognition of Miss Elizabeth Malone's dedication in building library service in the City of Jonesboro, and in honor of the public reception to be held on Saturday March 7, 1992, upon the occasion of her 90th Birthday, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro adopts the following resolution:
WHEREAS, Miss Malone was library director from 1940 to 1970;
WHEREAS, Miss Malone was responsible for moving the main library to newer and more spacious quarters on two occasions during her career;
WHEREAS, Miss Malone provided direction in establishing one of the larger public library programs in the state of Arkansas;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to honor Miss Malone for a life well-lived in service to the citizens of Jonesboro and Craighead County, and to offer our congratulations on her 90th birthday.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of March, 1992.
